I started out to add the latest chapter of either My Secret Self or The Night Festival, both T-Tales in progress, chapter by chapter, on Amazon’s Vella. Only instead, I had the first chapter of an entirely new book erupt out of my little estrogen-soaked brain.
Pelagia: A Transgender Tale has been released on Vella, rather than a new chapter of those other works in progress. This one is an idea that just arose inside and had to be started. Now.
It’s a sort of transgender Captain Marvel story—and I don’t mean Carol Danvers. Think back in time, to the Big Red Cheese, as he was known, when young Billy Batson would transform into an adult superhero by saying a magic word.
Or when young Thomas Troy would rub a magic ring and turn into the adult hero, The Fly.
In this latest T-Tale, a teen boy who is really a trans girl finds a mysterious piece of clothing and is transformed into an adult superhero—-an adult female superhero.
And thus begin the adventures of Pelagia.
