It features elements from Lovecraft and the earlier writer Robert W. Chambers, who was an inspiration for Lovecraft, Myself, I find Chambers a more modern and accessible writer than Lovecraft, even though he predated Lovecraft.
Be that as it may, Devil’s Due is about an arrogant author who gets ‘cancelled’ over his history of exploitative relationships with women, And when he consults with the self-styled Repairer of Reputation, he gets a solution to his problems that is unexpected and inexplicable.
