I just changed the ‘Cover’ illustration on Kindle Vella for my latest ongoing Transgender Tale, Transfiguration.
I think this perhaps better captures the essence of the story. Let me know what you think, dear readers.
It’s funny, the genesis of this particular T-Tale was my anger at JK Rowling. That inspired me to try my hand at poaching her territory, a bit, with this fantasy story of a young trans witch in training.
Of course, the story took on a life of its own, as always happens. So don’t go into this one expecting some kind of parody of Harry Potter—even though it is rather intended as a response to that genre.
Look, I know JKR has genuine gifts as a storyteller, gifts that certainly surpass my own. I have no illusions about that. And creating this particular tale has only sharpened my appreciation for her storytelling skills and inventive imagination.
Still, I rather like my heroine, Shenandoah, and I’m having fun creating my own take on this sort of fantasy.
