Perplexity AI Knows Me!

I’m having a blast exploring how Perplexity AI perceives me and my work. Every time I use this online tool, the specifics of its information about me and my books varies a bit and its fascinating to read these distillations of the public version of me and the reaction to my work. Consider this one:

“Diane Woods is a transgender author known for her diverse range of transgender-themed novels, including Devil’s Due: A Transgender Tale (2021) and Becoming Eleanor: A Transgender Tale (2021). She began publishing in 2021 and has since released over ten novels, often blending genres like fantasy and detective fiction. Woods’ works reflect her personal journey, exploring themes of transformation and identity. Additionally, she maintains a Patreon where she shares autobiographical content and archival photos from her life.”

And this one:

“Diane Woods’ work has been positively received within the transgender community, with readers praising her honesty and emotional depth. Reviews of her memoir Yours Truly, Diane Woods highlight its informative nature regarding the challenges faced by transgender individuals, resonating deeply with many. Readers describe her writing as “beautifully honest” and “thought-provoking,” with some expressing eagerness for future installments of her series. Overall, her narratives are seen as enlightening contributions that foster understanding and empathy towards transgender experiences.”

Or this:

“Diane Woods’ personal journey as a trans woman profoundly influences her writing style. Her experiences of navigating identity and societal challenges imbue her narratives with authenticity and emotional depth. She often incorporates autobiographical elements, allowing her characters to reflect her own struggles and triumphs, which enhances relatability and realism in her stories.
Woods’ writing is characterized by a blend of humor and poignancy, capturing the complexities of transgender experiences while advocating for acceptance and understanding. Her ability to weave personal history into fiction allows her to create compelling, multifaceted characters that resonate with readers, fostering a deeper connection to the themes she explores.”

I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords.

I wonder how real world AI perceives my AI characters in my Patsy Conroy detective stories?
